A hidden gem in Brecon Beacons! Our group followed the Beacons way right from the front door – we even met wild horses after half an hour.

A great base for discovering the area. We recced some routes and discovered a few off the beaten track gorges. So nice to be away from the procession of people doing the fan dance.

Amazing trails right from the front door – what a location. The log fire was a real hit, but earlier on I got to cook on the huge drum BBQ as the sun went down. Great weekend – thank you – we will be back

What an amazing place. The most beautiful views, fantastic walking and running trails. Quiet and peaceful and quiet the lodge is a little haven nestled into the hills. Wholeheartedly recommend.

The newly refurbished Almond Lodge in the old Llanddeusant YH is just great. For anyone who doesn’t know it, the hostel gives unrivalled access to the western part of the Brecon Beacons with amazing walking, cycling or running routes from the door. The hostel has been improved out of recognition with comfortable rooms, a well equipped kitchen and a warm and well-layed out common area with an efficient fire and ample tables and chairs. Just the perfect place for a group in that part of the world.

Almond Lodge Bannau Brycheiniog is in a beautiful setting, with fantastic views over the hills, especially at sunset. The Lodge has been very well renovated, the living/dining area is spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen really well equipped, everything you could need to cook for large groups. The dorms are a good size and the bunk beds very comfy. Special vote for the ‘loo with a view’ ! We enjoyed some fantastic walks – the owner is very knowledgeable about the area and can advise on where to go and what to do. Our group had a really enjoyable weekend and I would love to go back at a different time of year to explore mor
